Get to Know Me

Anais Torres is a first-generation, bilingual, Cuban American originally from New Jersey. She received her Masters in clinical psychology in 2008 as part of a doctoral program. She completed both her practicum training and pre-doctoral internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she worked on the psychiatric inpatient units and conducted consultation and liaison work with the medical-inpatient population. She was later introduced to the field of eating disorder treatment over 10 years ago through her role as a recovery coach at Oliver-Pyatt Centers (now Monte Nido Miami). Having worked in all levels of care from inpatient through outpatient, she is able to fully assess a client’s appropriateness for each level of care as well as closely monitor their symptomatology and provide clinical recommendations.

Braving Vulnerability Counseling was founded in 2018, where Anais showcases her passion for treating eating disorders, mood & anxiety disorders, PTSD and suicidality.

Anais currently serves as President for IAEDP’s Miami chapter. Her hope and goals include more advocacy, the opportunity to spread more knowledge and awareness, and to connect with fellow providers in our collective mission.
